The Turner family came to Catholic Charities West Virginia during a time of significant challenge. Like many families working hard to make ends meet, they were navigating delays in receiving their SNAP benefits while also contending with barriers to accessing utility services due to previous outstanding balances.
Recognizing their determination and commitment to creating a better life for their children, our team stepped in to walk alongside them. We provided weekly food boxes to help ensure their family had access to nutritious meals during the interim—support that helped preserve both their well-being and their dignity.
In collaboration with the Turners, we provided emergency financial assistance to help cover the cost of restoring electricity to their home. The family actively contributed their own resources to resolve the remaining balance, demonstrating tremendous initiative and partnership in their journey toward stability.
Today, the Turners have reliable access to food and electricity, and their SNAP benefits are fully active. With essential needs met, they are moving forward with renewed confidence and a stronger foundation.
This story is a testament to the power of compassionate, flexible support—and to the strength of families who persevere with grace and determination. At Catholic Charities West Virginia, we are honored to be a trusted partner in moments like these, working together to build a future rooted in hope and resilience.
