Catholic Charities Neighborhood Center
Located in the heart of Wheeling, the Catholic Charities Neighborhood Center is a place of welcome, hope, and support for individuals and families in need. Since 1969, we have provided comprehensive social services to our neighbors in Ohio, Marshall, and Belmont (OH) counties, offering both immediate assistance and long-term support that honors each person’s dignity and potential.
How We Can Help You
All services are always free of charge.
We offer a wide range of programs and daily services designed to meet basic needs and foster self-sufficiency. Whether you’re looking for a hot meal, help with a utility bill, or long-term case management support, we’re here to help.
Daily Services (Walk-In):
- The Center is open Monday through Friday. 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM; Saturday, 7:30 AM – 12 PM
- Meals Served On-Site: Breakfast at 9:00 AM and Dinner at 3:00 PM
- Laundry Services: Monday – Friday, 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM (detergent provided)
- Showers: Available by request (toiletries provided)
- Telephone Access: Local calls; long-distance available by request
- Mothers & Babies Services: Diapers available
Other Available Services:
Supportive Services- Our compassionate staff work one-on-one with individuals and families to identify obstacles to self-sufficiency and develop personalized action plans. We help clients set realistic goals and connect to resources to overcome housing instability, unemployment, financial hardship, and more.
Food Pantry- Open every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, our food pantry helps ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.
Delivered Meals for the Homebound- We provide hot, nutritious meals six days a week to individuals who are unable to leave their homes. A home assessment is required.
SNAP Enrollment- Get help applying for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to ensure your family has consistent access to food.
Utility Assistance- We provide financial help to prevent shut-offs of essential services. Available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (please call ahead to schedule an appointment).
Cleaning Supplies- Distributed every Wednesday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM to support hygiene and household cleanliness.
Help Obtaining Official Documents- We assist with securing state IDs, driver’s licenses, birth certificates, and other vital documents.
Hospitality House- Our transitional housing program provides safe, temporary housing for families as they work toward permanent stability.
