Catholic Charities Neighborhood Center Undergoing Renovations

The Catholic Charities Neighborhood Center will be closed for building renovations from June 17-20.

During the closure, new flooring will be installed thanks to a donation from a generous benefactor. The new flooring is part of an ongoing effort to update the center in order to make it more inviting and more efficient, and to increase services provided to the local community.

Recent renovations include significant kitchen upgrades, new office spaces for staff, a new roof, and new paint throughout the building. The center is also working on becoming more environmentally friendly through extensive recycling efforts, through the elimination of disposable plates and utensils, and through other small steps.

“Thanks to several generous donors, we have been able to make needed investments in our physical plant. From paint that brightens the feel of the center to new offices that enable staff to meet with clients in private, these changes have been made to improve the service we provide our clients,” said Elizabeth Paulhus, Catholic Charities West Virginia Northern Regional director.

In the days before the renovations begin, a week’s worth of meals will be delivered to the homebound in preparation for the center’s closing. For those seeking on-site meals, breakfast and lunch will be available at The Soup Kitchen, located at 1610 Eoff St.

Regular Neighborhood Center services will resume June 22. For more information, please call (304) 232- 7157.
