Bishop Michael Bransfield has approved a special collection to support recovery efforts related to the historic flooding that has struck 44 counties in West Virginia this week.
Parishes and missions in the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston are asked to take a special second collection during all liturgies on the weekend of July 2-3, 2016. Proceeds from this collection will be used by Catholic Charities West Virginia to assist with long-term recovery efforts. All funds will be used in West Virginia and distributed through our CCWVa network.
For those who wish to make a gift now, donors may contribute online to the CCWVa Disaster Recover Services fund at www.catholicchariteswv.org , which will support recovery efforts from the June floods.
Please remember in prayer the nearly two dozen victims of this tragedy, as well as all those who are injured and lost their homes/cars, employment, access to food and water and to those who remain without electricity or are stranded.
