Catholic Charities West Virginia (CCWVa) has many offices throughout the state and most of those offices rely on volunteers to help provide the services needed for the community. The CCWVa Elkins Office is no exception. We have over 30 volunteers every month who allow us to provide food and emergency financial assistance to over 600 individuals per month. Our volunteers allow Catholic Charities to keep overhead costs low so the majority of our donations go toward services for the community.
This week (April 23rd – April 29th) is volunteer appreciation week and I would like to take this time to say THANK YOU to all of our volunteers who generously give your gift of time to provide support, encouragement and even humor to make someone’s day a bit more bearable. We give thanks to God always for all of you.
The compassion you show to the people we serve is an inspiration for us all. You treat everyone with respect and kindness, no matter what the situation is. You show people that someone does care, and that gives our clients hope. Sometimes hope is just what someone needs to make it to the next day. As the famous quote says, “To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.” You have made a difference in someone’s life.
Please know that we genuinely appreciate and value your commitment of time to volunteering with our organization. For this, we thank you.
