Catholic Charities West Virginia to Host Pasta-bilities Takeout Spaghetti Dinner in Huntington

Catholic Charities West Virginia (CCWVa) will host its Inaugural Consider the Pasta-bilities Spaghetti Dinner in Huntington on Sunday, May 16th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The host is LaFamiglia Southern Italian Restaurant, and meals will be offered take-out style at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 1327 6th Avenue in Huntington.

“We hope to engage the entire area as we consider all the ‘Pasta-bilities’ that Catholic Charities contributes to those in need,” said Bill Hagy, CCWVa Western Regional Director.

Proceeds from the event will support Catholic Charities programs serving those who are poor and marginalized in the Huntington and surrounding communities.

“Over the years, we have been blessed with tremendous support from the areas we serve – for the people we serve,” said Hagy.

During the past 15 months and with COVID impacting the area, CCWVa continued to serve humankind by providing:

  • Food to over 6,123 families,
  • Emergency Assistance for utilities, employment needs, etc., and
  • Education and Job-Related Assistance to clients.

Spaghetti Dinner meals will include spaghetti cooked in LaFamiglia’s own marinara sauce, two meatballs in sauce, salad with Italian dressing, fresh baked rolls from Brunetti’s Bakery, and dessert. Dinners will be served as take-out only for the safety of staff, volunteers and guests.

Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased online at, at LaFamiglia Southern Italian Restaurant, or from any member of the Catholic Charities team. Tickets will also be available at the door the day of the event.

“We look with hope to the day when we’ll have the pleasure of dining with our friends and community members in person. Until then, we will still provide a fantastic meal to hundreds of area residents while serving our core mission,” said Hagy.
