Volunteers Perform Home Repairs in Webster Springs

For the 18th year, the Parish of St. James of Charles Town continued their tradition of spending a week in Webster Springs to complete housing repairs and assist the community.

Local residents who qualify as low-income are often unable to make necessary repairs to their homes, and as a result, suffer from chronic health conditions or accessibility issues.

This year’s group of adult and teen volunteers spent a week sleeping in a community-style dormitory and working on several projects, including a new roof for a local resident’s mobile home.

The resident referred to the group as “miracle workers.”

“We are blessed to have these volunteers spend their time with us and make a difference in the lives of those we serve,” said Tina Cogar, Catholic Charities West Virginia Outreach Coordinator.
